Having been to 16 sqn to find out when shutdown will be it will definitely be in July this year but a date has not yet been set, I spoke with the TCO and the SSM and they are hopeful of a massive turn out, the TCO is thinking of the goodbye being from the Friday with a good get together of the very large Tank Transporting family through to the shutdown parade on the Saturday / Sunday, I will be given the dates when they know.
Hopefully we can get as many guys to go as possible as this is the final curtain no more chances after this!! so let us show them we are true Tank transporters by getting there what ever the cost....

End of an era, a way of life and the biggest  adventure a young man could go on. Steve, Do you remember a long time ago(Oct 1972) 12 young lads got posted to 7 Regt, We all travelled in No:2's arrived at Senne had lunch was thrown on the back of a Bedford. Chucked out at Paderborn Station with a warrant and told to find our way to Fally. By the time we found our way, using our best German, everyone was rat faced. Happy Days and where the adventure started. :)
