Hi Mark Sorry for not getting back before now, but, no excuses. As soon as I saw your photo I recognised you, you haven't change much over the years. Have spoken to Roger, just before he went off on his hols. He mentioned he comes to see you on a regular basis and said we should get together on one of his trips. I hope we can do that, will look forward to it. Take care chat soon hopefully. Pete

Hi Mark glad to hear from you - sorry about the leave but you have to claim it within 5 years of retiring from the forces ha ha.

Yeah for my sins or should that be shins, i played with the proper shape ball I left the other one to the ruffy tuffy blokes like yourself.

I recognise quite a few names on the site like Eddie DAWES, Brian WISEMAN, Brian SQUIRRELL etc but there are loads that are missing - have been trying to rack my brains - which is difficult at my age - but heres a few I think - BRIAN (JIMMY) RIDDLE - GEORDIE ROWLANDS - JOCK MORRISON - ? HENDERSON (A CHEF I THINK) - GEOFF DAVISON (PLUG) - MORIARTY (CLERK) - PHIL (SPARRA) WILLOUGHBY (I THINK SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD PASSED AWAY BUT NOT SURE) - I'm sure a few more might come to me later. I will have to dig my photos out the attic - only ones I think I have got are from our NI Tour in 76.

Had a good night last night reminiscing with Kev ELLA (ex 16Tk circa 1977)about days in Fally and nights out in Walsrode.

Take care and best wishes.

STEVIE G (Stage name - original or what - I should have put copyright on it before that bloke Gerrard at Liverpool nicked it - could have made myself a fortune)

Hi Mark not sure if you remeber me but I was at 16 tanks from Nov 75 to May 79 - I was the leave and movements clerk in Fally and also on the May 76 Ireland tour - also played for the Sqn Football. I was recommended this site by my namesake STEVE GREGORY that's the one who had his brother Neil serving at 16 as well. Life has thrown lots my way since them days as it has too all. I finished my career as a WO1 at MCTC, Colchester and left the Army in 1997 whereupon I found out that I could sing, believe it or not and then embarked on a 11 year career as a Professional Singer on the Club, Holiday Park and Hotel circuit until I decided to take early retirement at 50 last year.

Funny enough we are coming to Grimsby the weekend of 6 March to meet with friends we made on hoiday - we are staying at The Beeches Hotel in Waltham Road. Also this weekend we are going to a surpirse 50th at Sunbury on Thames for Kev ELLA - another ex 16 lad.

Take care and best wishes STEVE GREGORY (the other one)
