'Monstrosity'

Morning AllJust asking a question on behalf of the owner of a Tank Museum in NorfolkHe's been contacted by someone who's father was in tank transport in the 60s & 70s and worked on a tank transporter designed to carry two Chieftains. The Reg was LYN 60 and it was nicknamed 'Monstrosity'. Has any one got any information or photos I could pass on to him? If you have anything, PM me or better, contact me at the following e-mail address mjstubley@virginmedia.com Cheers in advance See More

"Bob, Bernies was off e-Bay. For the full Accurate Armour 1:35 scale kit, you're talking £275 - looks well built up though http://www.accurate-armour.com/ShowProduct.cfm?manufacturer=0&category=14&subcategory=20&product=610"

Excellent models they look so real, I bet they cost a fortune.

Cheers John, the sign is probably stuck on a scrap heap in one of leeds city council's highways depots. The model looks brilliant, I'll have to get into the piggy bank.

I have one of the Dinky models, but it certainly doesn't match this one, and I'm going to pass the detail on to ny mate Mick Warner, because he might be interested.

All the best,

Barney.

Great model "Can I 'ave one dad"!

Seriously, where did it come from John, and what happened to the sign directing tank transporters off the ringroad and down to the gates at Barnbow? Have you got it in your collection! The kids on bikes were always a menace when going through a built up area, as they were usually able to out accelerate a loaded Antar, and would ride alongside, sometimes hanging on to the trailer.

All the best,

Barney.
